Julien Marolf

Born in Geneva he trained as a stone carver, in marble. His work focuses on the human’s role in society. With his two brothers, Vincent, a jeweller, and Nicolas, painter/printmaker/set designer, they created the 3M group dedicated to creating art.

His work: “Maqueraux et Cadre doré” is a tribute to the Bagnard writer Maurice Chappaz and to his book: « Les maquereaux des cimes blanches » (1976), describing construction in the mountains. Through his sculpture, he represents the writer’s view and takes part in the current political debate concerning the referendum against second home ownership.
